Meet Chef
Suresh Pillai

Chef Suresh Pillai, today’s special ambassador of Kerala cuisine to the world and Super Master Chef to over 1.7 million of his social media followers, has not lost that simplicity of an Island boy from the banks of the Ashtamudi lake in Kollam, Kerala.
From his humble beginnings in Kerala, he spent 27 years honing his culinary skills in multiple kitchens including the BBC Masterchef Professionals.

His travels took him to islands such as England, Australia and the Caribbean Islands as a culinary mentor to University students. 
From fulfilling every Chef’s dream of opening his very own restaurant, Chef Suresh did this with astounding appreciation and feedback in Bengaluru, India’s garden city and tech capital.

He has since opening RESTAURANT CHEF PILLAI in Whitefield, Bengaluru, opened his new restaurant in the iconic Le Meridian Hotel in Kochi under the MARRIOT banner. 

He is now set to open his signature RESTAURANT CHEF PILLAI  brand in Dubai, UAE and in Doha, Qatar.

In addition to RCP restaurant brands, he has also launched his fast-food or rather ‘Food on the Go’ brand KOTHU XPRESS and due for launch is his specialised Tandoori cuisine brand NORTH RASOI.

The very essence of Chef Suresh Pillai’s magical Kerala flavours is his unique, signature way of blending traditional spices that impart ‘flavour bomb’ potential to all his cuisine.

His guests, literally attain NIRVANA, after flavouring one of his signature dishes.

His menu creations are challenging and adventurous, and gives the uniqueness of Kerala cuisine a flavourful twist. 

Like he says “ The two most important ingredients on our menu is love and simplicity’. The simplicity can be traced back to his humble island upbringing and love?

He just lets love flow, both in way of cooking and his attitude to life.

What drives him is his team, he says.

Every one on my team is as important as a guest.

One gives what one gets, naturally.

That is why ‘Let your love flow’ as we say in our logo and tagline and ‘ Let our food do the talking’, he says with a sparkle in his eyes.

Chef Pillai invited to cook in INS VIKRANTH

“ My flame of patriotism, love and pride for my nation was lit fully when I was offered the opportunity to light the kitchen stoves inside India’s new aircraft carrier, the 262.5 meter long and 63 meter wide and 59 meters high warship INS Vikrant, the new flagship of the nation’s fleet. Remembering the brilliant war strategist Napolean’s words “An Army marches on its stomach’, I then went on to cook NIRVANAS for the naval commandos after the ritual of boiling milk on the kitchen stoves of the carrier. It was the highest honour for me to cook for these commandos of an iconic aircraft carrier before it is officially handed over to the Indian Navy which commissioned it to be made at the Naval Shipyard in Kochi. A moment is frozen in time and etched in my memory forever.”

Chef Pillai had the honour of being invited to cook up his signature NIRVANA dishes for all the naval commandos and crew of INS VIKRANT at the Navel Shipbuilding yard in Kochi. INS VIKRANTH will be officially handed over to the Indian Navy on Independence Day, 15th August, 2022.

Restaurant Chef Pillai to open in DOHA in December

The first of Chef Suresh Pillai’s restaurants outside India is all set for an opening this year in the Middle East in Doha. The restaurant brand aptly called by the name RESTAURANT CHEF PILLAI is the 4th restaurant after his openings at Bangalore, Kochi and this Onam in Trichur in India. 

 

For all the Malayalees in Doha craving for a flavour of Chef Pillai’s delicious Kerala cuisine with a twist, the wait is over. Stay tuned for surprise recipes on the Doha menu of RESTAURANT CHEF PILLAI.
